A mostly flat and easy hike ending with a serious rock scramble. Cache is a small pill bottle containing log sheet and pencil only. Bring plenty of drinking water or a filter.
The nearby cache has been archived and this site deserves a cache to get people to come up here. I beached at the inlet and the hike from there is about 3.5 miles round trip. Factor in the walk around the lake if you plan to walk from the marina or campground. The majority of the hike is a walk in the park on a well-worn path. Where it crosses rocks it is generally easy to pick up again on the other side. The last 1/4 mile is a serious rock scramble..very steep in places. The ascent route is marked by faint green arrows, darker red arrows and lots of rock cairns left by other hikers. Don't attempt this cache unless you are in good physical condition or if you have a problem with high, steep places. The payoff is a waterfall-fed pool and rock basins in a pretty valley with a view of the lake in the distance. The cache location is pretty obvious... on the lip of the valley as you descend to the river.
