Ein nicht sehr langer, aber steiler Aufstieg durch eine wilde Landschaft mit XXL-Bonsai! -
Engl.: A not too long but steep hike in a cliffy area housing XXL-bonsai.
Die Balbersteine bestehen aus Hallstätter Kalk, welcher sehr verkarstungsfähig ist und daher Höhlenbildungen ermöglicht. Sie stellen den Rest eines alten Gebirges dar, das im laufe vieler hunderttausend Jahre von Wind und Wetter langsam abgetragen wurde. Dadurch ist auch der Höhle beim Cache das Höhlendach verloren gegangen. Die Karstforscher bezeichnen so einen dachlosen Höhlengang als KARSTGASSE. Durch die kargen Bodenverhältnisse können sich Bäume nur äußerst langsam entwickeln. Sie neigen daher zu Zwergenwuchs und Verkrüppelung. Es gibt hier eine große Anzahl solcher Riesenbonsai. Zwischen einem dieser XXL-Bonsai am Wegesrand und dem Eingang der Karstgasse ist der Cache versteckt.

Die Balbersteine sind ein Naturdenkmal!
Engl.: The Balbersteine consist of Hallstätter limestone a material likely to house lot of caves. The rock formation is the remains of an old range because wind and weather removed big masses of rock more hundred thousands of years. Therefore the cave lost its roof and an alleyway had been left. This kind of objects is called by scientists as KARSTGASSE. As soil is rare trees grow slow and in stunted ways like bonsai. Between one of this XXL-bonsai close to the hiking trail and the entrance of the Karstgasse a rocky cleft houses the cache.
