This cache is placed in loving memory of p's mother, Jean Marie
Long, who passed away on July 4th, 2008, after a short but
courageous battle with biliary cancer. She is buried about 100 feet
away from the cache site although her headstone will not be ready
for another 6-8 weeks. In honor of her service as a life-long
educator, we have stocked the cache with items you might find in a
typical classroom. The final ten years of her career were spent
teaching first grade at Jackson Elementary, part of the Akron
Public Schools. Please try to keep the theme going.
The following poem was read at her funeral:
What Cancer Cannot Do
Cancer is so limited.
It cannot cripple love.
It cannot shatter hope.
It cannot erode faith.
It cannot destroy peace.
It cannot silence courage.
It cannot suppress memories.
It cannot kill friendship.
It cannot erode the spirit.
It cannot conquer the soul.
It cannot steal eternal life.

Cache is located in a typical location, therefore no clue. It
should require little bushwhacking, although you will need to duck
under some branches to make the pull. As always, please be
respectful of the occupants and obey the posted hours at the main
entrance. We will maintain the cache when we are in the area (which
is very often), although p's father will immediately address any
serious issues as he is also a cacher.
We love you, Mom.
