So what constitutes the CSRA?
The Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) is a region in the
U.S. state of
Georgia,
and is also considered to include five counties[2]
in South Carolina.
The region is located on and named after the Savannah River,
which separates the two states. The largest cities within the CSRA
are Augusta,
Georgia and Aiken, South
Carolina.
According to the 2000 Census, the Augusta-Aiken metropolitan
area had a population of 477,441, making it the 87th largest in the
nation and second largest in the State of Georgia.
Wikipedia says "13-county region[1]
in the U.S. state of
Georgia,
and is also considered to include five counties[2]
in South
Carolina"
CSRA Geocachers Association says 11 counties in Georgia and 7
counties in South Carolina.
Dilemma: They are not the same counties and to
consider both sources, the total is actually 14 counties in Georgia
and 7 counties in South Carolina.
For our little adventure, I decided that we are going to use
them all. I would not want Saluda or Screven or Washington or
Taliaferro county to be offended that we might not consider them
part of us.:-)
The cache IS NOTat the posted coordinates. Posted coordinates
are bogus. Please read the description below for logging
requirements.
Cache is a micro sized utility capsule container located at
XXXXXXXXX. Cache is located inside Patriot's Park and parking is
available once inside park.
10/16/11 The above sentence is sorta off now ... The cache is
literally on Patriot's Park property, but accessing it seems to
take you outside the park. The cache is in the same spot as always,
but some construction has changed the fencing and now what was a
playground has become a shelter. The playground/shelter are
exceptionally close to the cache, but on the wrong side of the
fence. One must make the long walk all the way around the ball
fields to return to that corner of the park and find the
cache.
To log a “Found it” for this cache in addition to
finding the cache and signing the logbook you must have:
Found at least one cache in EACH of the counties listed
below.
Only physical caches with logbooks
count as finds for the Challenge; event, locationless, virtual, and
web cam caches will not count toward the Challenge. For multi and
mystery caches the coordinates listed on the cache page will be
used to determine what county the cache is in. All finds will count
regardless of date of find. Thanks to both the Georgia and South
Carolina county challenges, I know there are physical caches in
each county listed. Find logs by other cachers will be
deleted.
When in doubt ask, we can discuss it or even seek guidance from
others, but the final decision rests with the cache owner. When you
have completed the challenge and your list has been confirmed you
will be given authorization to hunt this cache.
The preferred method to confirm your finds will be for you to
prepare a Bookmark list with the county name, Geocaching GC# and
date found. This will be the quickest way to confirm the finds. If
you need to use an alternative method for this confirmation, please
contact me and we will work with you.
Congrats to Pilgrims Progress for FTF!!!!!!
