Easy terrain
Climping GapClimping Gap is a circular walk of 4.23 miles and should takeabout 2.5 hours to complete. The terrain is mixed with some partseasy going but other areas more taxing especially along the beach.Bikes are not recommended nor are baby buggies. Dogs are allowedbut please keep them under control.The walk passes through areas of SSSI (Site of SpecialScientific Interest) SNCI (Site of Nature Conservation Importance)and LNR ( Local Nature Reserve) so please respect yoursurroundings.Wildlife and flora and fauna to look out for include Oystercatchers Mermaids Purse Ringed Plovers Painted Ladys Sand Catchflys Common Lizards Sea Kale Marram GrassThe walk consists of 13 traditional caches with 1 bonus to findso please remember to collect the clues. Most are large microswhich need to be screwed back tightly but please don't over-do it.There are 3 small caches but you please bring a pen or pencil withyou. The paths can become muddy in the winter or after heavy rainso walking boots are recommended. At the time of placing the cachesthe footpaths were generally good.There is parking available at N50° 48.116 W000° 32.594 which isa pay and display car park.At the time of placing the caches the cost of parking there was£3.15 for 3 hours. Unfortunately there isn't any where else nearbyto park. To access the car park go down Ferry Road from the A259and follow the signs for the Littlehampton golf course. Continuepast the golf course down a single track road and you will come tothe car park. There are toilet facilities during the day.We hope you enjoy the walk.Mike and Christine
