NorthWes: Regrettably, I'm not able to get to this one as often as I can to keep up with good maintenance. I replaced the cache early on the morning of 8/28, and by noon it was missing again. Sigh... such good memories here. Perhaps another (closer to home) cacher can make a hide happen here!

Geocache Description:

Enjoy this paved pullout at Mile 183 overlooking the confluence of the East and Middle Forks of the Chulitna River.

A paved pullout is unfortunately kind of rare along Alaska's highways. I've learned to take advantage of these spots to stop and stretch my legs driving the long hauls between towns and recreation spots. Besides - this site has a nifty view into the Chulitna River - and Denali (Mt McKinley) is often visible 48.5 miles almost due west of here. The cache is hidden south of the pullout near the bluff's edge and a few feet above the pavement itself.
