A collection of four micro-caches located in South Yorkshire, and dedicated to Eric Maw, Champion (Horse) Ploughman (1921 – 2008). The four villages / hamlets have very different characters; Hooton Pagnell is my favourite one. The term Hooton means ‘farmstead on a spur of land.’
This is the smallest of the South Yorkshire Hooton’s, a quiet hamlet surrounded by fertile fields and former good hunting land. This hamlet has a character all of it’s own, the cache is located at outside the village otherwise extreme stealth would be required. Walk into the hamlet and you’ll understand why.
Other caches in the series include;
The 4 Hooton’s – Hooton Pagnell GC1E4M2
The 4 Hooton’s – Hooton Roberts GC1E4N7
The 4 Hooton’s – Hooton Levitt GC1E4NC
