Geocache Description:

A magnetically attached 35mm film canister hidden on the quieter (and slightly less muggle-infested) side of Richmond Green.

About five hundred years ago you could have witnessed jousting tournaments on this spot in front of Richmond Palace, of which the gatehouse and a few buildings remain on the western edge. You can walk through this gate to get to the river.

For the last few hundred years it has been a venue for cricket matches, and is a popular spot for sunbathing or otherwise enjoying this spot. It has decreased in size over the years by the building of the railway and A316 road to the north - originally this area was contiguous with what is now the Old Deer Park.

This cache is in a fairly obvious spot at the coordinates given. This is the quieter side of the green, but stealth will be necessary at times as the green is very popular.
