If you're venturing out south from the Blackfoot Lake Staging Area parking lot onto the Blackfoot Trail, you're greeted with a long, wide, tree-lined corridor inviting you to the great trails ahead.
Each time I start out on the trail I begin losing the nagging weights of the world and feel so happy and privileged to be in this place again. Once the (sometimes long) hike is over, the return trip brings usually brings you back over the same ground. Funny how the mind changes: at this point you're a bit tired and probably anticipating the cool breeze of the car's AC in summer or the warmth of the heater in winter. It's good to leave and good to get back.
I thought I'd make this hide just to get you warmed up if you're venturing further down the trails or it could be just a quick scramble and find from the parking lot too.
