Geocache Description:

At this site, the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 333, Rockland County, Observes Memorial Day.

An annual event at several locations in our county, the "WATCHFIRES" are lit at midnight with full Military Honors. A 24 hour vigil follows to remember those who have sacrificed their lives in the cause of Freedom and Democracy in all wars and conflicts throughout our Nations history.

The Town of Ramapo, under the watch of the late Supervisor Herb Reisman - after whom a portion of the park is named - that first designated the site off Route 45 as a permanent location.

The final is a micro nearby Plaque.

To find the final nano use N41° 09.877 W074° 01.835 by subtracting the day the plaque was "PLACED" from both coordinates. If date is June 11, 1930 subtract 11 from 09.877 to get 09.866 and from 01.835 to get 01.824.
