Geocache Description:

The Drowning Machine

This cache is located approx. 1.5 miles from Highway 97. The turnoff is just across the river as you head North towards Penticton. Please use caution when turning from the busy highway on to Green Lake Road.

The road is paved all the way except the entrance to the parking area is gravel and is a little steep. I was able to drive down and up in my minivan, but check before using it. The road is winding, and the entrance is on a curve, so watch for oncoming traffic as you approach and turn.

Along the Okanagan River is a series of weirs that control the flow of the river. The cache is located near the level path that runs past the weir. You do not have to go near the weir or the water to get to the cache. Please obey all the signs.

There is a FTF prize of a set of Beyblades, still in their original Japanese packaging.

Remember, this is the dry, hot Okanagan, so watch for rattlesnakes and scorpions as you search for the cache. I didn't see any, but a little caution is a good thing!

As you can see by the signs below, do not try anything in the water above the weir. They would not put up these signs if they were not serious. Obey all the signs. Fortunately, there is a chain link fence to protect everyone above the weir.

Again, obey all the signs!
