XXX (Manawatu - Wanganui)

The cache is located very close to a typical NZ tramping hut which is located within 10 minutes walk of the road (shingle)
Most NZ forest huts are being removed, where they are in close proximately to roads due to vandalism and rubbish but this one remains in perfect condition.
Visit with only several minutes detour on the way to the sunrise hut, or bring your young or non athletic family/friends to visit a real tramping hut.
We visited with 5 x 3-5 year olds and also walked the 1 hour long swamp track (circular loop track shown on enlarged map below) for a terrific day out and insight into the NZ bush.
Please remember to bring woolen hats, scarves, warm clothes, jackets and wet weather gear with you for all trips into the NZ mountains. We were within a few hundred metres from the snow today and on a very cold winters day it may well be covered.
