Whitetail Hollow is located off the old railroad bed at Winchester Lake.
Winchester Lake is a man-made lake built years ago as a sawmill pond. The lumber company constructed the lake to offload the logs into and then the logs were floated across the lake to the mill. Many railroad tracks were laid down throughout the area to bring the logs to the mill.
Whitetail Hollow is located off of the old railroad bed that parallels the lake. Then you will take a not so beaten path to the cache. If you are quite, you may see the namesake of the cache, we did going in to scout and place the cache.
You will want to visit the Winchester Museum and learn about the local history. It just takes a few minutes!
The cache is a lockandlock container that has several trade items. Enjoy the hike, wildlife and views. This is one of my favorite places to visit.
