signyred: Decided to archive this one as a fence has now been erected which suggests it may be private property. Even though it's a clip and lock the box seems to keep letting water in and it's a bit of a pain to service.

Geocache Description:


The listing co-ordinates are for the car park of St Peter’s – Warwickshire’s oldest church, also known as “The Saxon Sanctuary”. It’s a fine old building but as a non-believer that’s all I know about it. However, nearby is a site I’ve always thought would be good for a geocache so I’ve gone against my principles and set a mystery cache based on a graveyard. All the clues bar one are within 20 paces of the church.

The cache is at N 52 1 A . B C D ’ W 001 4 E . F G H ‘

A = The number of names on the 1939 – 45 side of the Wootton Wawen War Memorial.

B = The number of letters in the name of Her Majesty’s Ship that H. Macklow Hill served in as a Surg. Lieut.

Edward Smallwood died July 2 C 1883

Nathaniel Bayliss died in 1 8 D 8

Zilpha was E 4 years old when she died in 1976

F = Number of consonants on the big slab behind Catherine Emma Phillips

Elizabeth Wakefield passed into one of the Many Mansions on June 19th 1 9 G 4

H = Number of bunches of grapes on the fancy headstone of Pamela and Beverley Swann.

If you can’t find them all you might find the cache by counting 375 curvy ones past the blue curvy one!

The cache is a "camauflaged" 'clip&lock' box with a log roll that came from the original micro.

As from June 2010 you might have to climb over or squeeze through a wooden fence to reach the cache site.
