During early and mid May, a popular destination in Kyiv is the Central Botanical Gardens. The gardens are well known for their lilacs, which are in full bloom at this time of year.

A popular picture of the lilacs is a view looking down over the sea of blooms towards one of the two monasteries located in the park. However, the gardens cover a large area, and if you're unfamiliar with the park, finding the spot seen in the pictures can take some searching. This cache will help visitors find this scenic area.
1) Visit the scenic view above at N50° 25.088 E30° 33.734 .
2) Descend the hill using one of the two stairway paths.
3) The cache is located between the two stairways, just off a paved pathway running along the side of the hill that intersects them.
4) There is a path at this point running down the hill between the stairways. Where the path intersects the paved pathway running along the hill, go just a little further down. The cache is on the NE side of a tree (e.g. the side toward from the grass path).
There are nice views here as well of the hill and the lilac trees.

The cache is a black petling (which looks like a test tube). Please try not to attract attention as there are many muggles that enjoy the park.
Be aware that there is a 50 UAH fee to enter the park.
