Geocache Description:

Metal and plastic home made container on the edge of an area of wasteland.

Cache is heavy, so be careful when picking it up not to drop it.

The area beyond the fence has been as you see it for the last 35 years (and probably even longer) since I used to play soldiers here as a boy with my friends. The cache is named after those imaginary battles.

Access is through Highgate wood, although the cache is on the boundary.

For a little background, you should find yourself facing the old trackbed of a railway from Finsbury Park to Alexandra Palace. Before the last war there were preparations to convert it to run underground trains. Closed in the 1950's, there have been several attempts to re-open it since. Nearby you might glimpse an old brick track-layers hut that served as a fort for our battles.

Cache hidden on the feast of St. Pambo
