Geocache Description:


Come out and enjoy the new Blackhoof Park in Lenexa. The parking coordinates listed are just off Monticello Road. Boat ramp access to Lake Lenexa is also at those coordinates. The trail around the lake is 2.1 miles and an easy casual walk. Bicycles are allowed on the trails as well. I highly recommend you check out the dam while there. It is quite unique. Park hours are 5 AM to Midnight.

The cache is approximately half way around the lake from the parking lot. The cache is a 2.5 qt lock-n-lock with some nice swag.

Word to the wise: Being a new park with construction ongoing provides more opportunity for human visitors and native wildlife to come in contact. Venomous snakes have been identified in the park and it is therefore wise to use caution when retrieving a cache, especially those hidden around rock formations. Having a hiking stick available to poke around first is always a good idea.
