Located about a half-mile, flat, easy walk up the old railroad path from the parking area. Minimal bushwacking at end.
Located in Jamaica State Park (minimal entrance fee may be required), on a bend of the West River, in the Green Mountains in the lower half of Vermont. Voted the number one state park in Vermont, it has everything a family would need for a great outing together—terrific playground, river swimming site, picnic areas, hiking trails, fishing and rafting, etc. Our family has been camping here for vacation for almost a decade, and love it! We originally found the park when we were in school in Boston, and continue to come each year. Check out the nearby Hamilton Falls, visitor center/museum, Salmon Hole (site of an ambush of British soldiers by Indians in 1748), simple yet quaint Jamaica town, Ball Mountain Dam, and Townshend Park.
Cache is located about a half-a-mile up the old railroad path from the parking area [N 43°06.555’ W 072°46.510’], by the river and in the woods. Flat easy walk, limited bushwacking needed at the end. Cache is so named because of our allegiance to Pittsburgh and their sports teams, while we are from neighboring town of Beaver. Originally held log book, Steeler tattoos, Spider-man toy, bookmark, and more.
