A horrific crime has occurred in Canada's capital, and all signs point to the dastardly deed having been committed by a local geocacher. You are Inspector Clue-seau, and you have been called in to inspect and interpret the clues that lead to the culprit.
The posted coordinates are where you will receive your first set of instructions and begin your investigation. You will have the opportunity to stroll through the Byward Market and nearby locations, so allow yourself a couple of hours, and plan to travel on foot or bicycle. If you arrive by car, please also plan to pay for parking. The route you will follow is stroller-friendly, but keep in mind that the final cache location is not, though it is only a short way (under 50 m). Finally, please note that, while you can do the legwork for this cache at any time of the year, the final location is not the most winter-friendly (though some have been determined enough and properly prepared to find it in the winter).
As you arrive at each new location, you will be asked questions. When you input the correct answer, you will be given your next set of instructions. You will finally be guided to the cache location where you will find a geocache container. Visit www.Wherigo.com to learn more about Wherigo geocaches.
To find this cache, you will need two things:
- The Wherigo Player - included on the Garmin Colorado and Oregon series GPSr. A version of the player is also available for download for use by GPS-enabled Pocket PC devices. See the Wherigo web site for the download.
- The "Inspector Clue-seau" Wherigo Cartridge - Once you have the Player, you will need to download the cartridge for this cache.
The cache is a small, clear lock 'n' lock container, with the usual assortment of swag. FTF prize is an unactivated Canadian Forces Geocoin.
This is our first attempt at a Wherigo and we hope to do more, so constructive feedback is appreciated.
NOTE: It has come to our attention that it is a wise idea to save often if using the Garmin Colorado.
