Place of Sajogalgoc castle. The castle is not visible any more, only the hilltop, and the footprint of the castle is there. It is located near a very nice, quiet village.
Sajogalgoc is a nice traditional hungarian village. It has a very unique atmosphere. One can have a nice walk in the village enjoying country atmosphere. The quiet, and calm atmosphere of the village is traditionally well known. The village's catholic church was built around 1780.
The geocache is a traditional box, located about 50 meters from the castle site. There is no visible remnants of the castle. Only the hill, and the shape of the once castle is there, but all covered by trees. It is in a forest, so no view from that hilltop. It was built in 1442-58, and was occupied by king Mathias of Hungary. Since 1459 it was not used, it slowly disappeared over the years. However as this is one of the old stone castles in Hungary, the site is of historical value. After visiting the cache, you can walk around finding several spots with great view of the river Sajo valley.
