Geocache Description:

Welcome to another fun and interesting place in the Northern Neck of Virginia.

You will find yourself in the Village of Morattico VA.


Morattico has a long history as a fishing village but it has evolved into a rather quaint little village with a mix of retired watermen and their families along with young “come here’s” and their families.

Morattico has held onto its heritage and as you seek this cache I’m hopeful that you will discover something of the Morattico and indeed Virginia of the past.

Please don’t seek the cache in the dark. While it’s not unsafe or illegal you will draw the attention of folks who live in the area. While the propieters of this location have given their blessing for this cache not everyone in the village is aware of the geocache.

There's a very special first to find prize in the cache. I'd be very pleased if you'd post a photo of yourself with the prize. There are also 5 postcards inside the cover of the logbook for the first five finders.
