Geocache Description:

A walk around historic Warwick following the metal plaques set in the pavement and giving a brief history of the town. The full walk is just over 2.5 miles including the final cache. Ample parking around the town but St Nicholas Park is nearest to the end of the walk.
You'll need to bring a pen/pencil with you to sign the log.

To get the most out of this walk a leaflet, costing 50 pence at the time of release of this cache (60p April 2014), can be obtained from the Warwick Tourist Information Office at the co-ordinates listed above. This is also the start point of the Warwick Trail and site of the first plaque. The leaflet gives a more in-depth explanation of the history of Warwick, it's buildings and features and save the need to download 21 waypoints. The information office is open daily from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.

The walk can be completed without the use of the leaflet by following the waypoints listed, although you'll miss out on some of the interesting information. There may be slight errors in co-ordinate accuracy due to the proximity of buildings at some of the plaques.

To find the location of the cache you'll need to get answers to questions at each plaque. The answer to the questions will give either a number or a letter. If a letter you'll need to convert it to a number eg a = 1; d = 4 etc. Use only the description on the plaque, don't count the number of the plaque or "TOWN TRAIL" Also be aware that there are 4 plaques that are direction signs rather than descriptive plaques and should be ignored. Any directions that are part of other plaques should also be ignored. The answers to "2", "20" and "21" may take a bit longer to solve than the rest so it may be worth copying the details from the plaques to work out at the end of the walk.

REMEMBER TO ONLY USE THE DESCRIPTION IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PLAQUE AND NOT "TOWN TRAIL" OR DIRECTIONS OR NUMBER OF THE PLAQUE. IT HELPS TO TAKE PHOTOS AS YOU GO AROUND IN CASE OF MISCALCULATIONS
BEWARE ! THERE MAY BE SLIMY THINGS ON OR UNDER THE CONTAINER - AS FOUND BY PREVIOUS FINDERS
