The Fall Equinox marks the end of summer and the
beginning of fall. Days will soon be shorter and nights longer. But
at the equinox, days and nights are equal in length. For those of
us in SW Michigan, leaves will be turning, nights will already be
cooler, and hopefully the skeeters will be gone!
In the old traditions, this was the time of the
second harvest, and a time to give thanks for the fruits of the
earth. For Mary and I, it seems like the perfect time to host our
first event! We look forward to putting faces to names, sharing
food and drink with you, and swapping stories of the season's
hunts.

LOGISTICS
We've got a big yard, a gas grill, a fire ring,
firewood, and plenty of tent space if you want to spend the night.
Make it your base of operations for a day of caching or just hang
out. Within two miles you'll find a letterbox, an earthcache, a
virtual, a night cache, a multi, a couple of benchmarks, and
several high quality traditionals! (See Macatawa bookmark
list)
Bring camp chairs if you have 'em. Bring a
flashlight if you're going after the night cache. Bring a rubber
stamp if you're going after the letterbox. Bring a camera for the
virtual and the earthcache. Of course, bring your pathtags, TBs and
geocoins to swap.
|
COMMEMORATIVE PATHTAG
Each attendee will receive a commemorative
pathtag!
RSVP
Come for the day, spend the night, or come for a
quick visit, but plan to come! Please post a note if you do, but
you won't be turned away if you just show up!

Post Script
Thanks to all of you who came to the 2008 SW Migo
Fall Equinox Meet & Greet. What a great turnout! Our log shows
39 entries, many of which included spouses, friends, micros and
cache hounds! Twas a perfect day for caching and partying, and we
did plenty of both. Most of the local caches were all hit multiple
times, and I'm sure the folks who live on either side of the the
night cache were wondering what the #$%! was going on as 16+ teams,
with torches blazing, trouped through the park! At least 60 bugs
and coins were either traded or discovered (I'm pretty sure every
cache in Allegan, Kent, Muskegon and Ottowa counties were wiped
clean in the days ahead of the event.) Illuminati shared secrets
with acolytes. Lots of food, candy, chips, dips, cookies, pies,
cakes ... even Death by Chocolate! Leftovers were donated to a
local church care of FJFitzgerald.
Twas a pleasure to put faces to names, break bread,
trade pathtags and tell tall tales. Looking forward to crossing
paths with each of you again!
