Geocache Description:

Remarkably Hampshire and West Sussex are both oil producing counties. This on-going series hopes to show you the sites that are quietly contributing to the oil production of the world. The hazardous nature of the sites means close access isn’t always possible, but all the caches should be informative. There are no clues to collect or bonus to find, but hopefully the series will grow as new sites are discovered.

Lidsey 1 was discovered in 1987. Lidsey 1 currently produces 10,920 barrels a year. The above co-ordinates will lead you to the cache located near to the entrance to the well-site. There is a view of the ‘nodding donkeys’. This cache is a small plastic camo box and contains a log book and pencil. There are also co-ordinates for a better view of the site. The proximity of another nearby cache limited our location. the cache is well hidden
