We wanted to place the highest physical cache in Oregon and after researching things, this is the only location to get that done.
There is another viewpoint that is 2.19 miles north of this location but it is only 9730 feet in elevation (And nowhere to hide a cache as we looked there as well. Yeah, you could place a micro but is that really a cache?)
This is an all-day trip, this is an Oregon Outback tour, this is a town car drive IF you stay off the Rooster Comb section.
Pack plenty of food and water, as well as some camping gear just in case "something" happens while you're out there.
The best way in is from Burns on 205 but you could also come in from Denio, Plush, or Princeton.
Bring your photography equipment, optics, and lunch.
There are plenty of camping locations as well as a resort at Frenchglen.
