Geocache Description:

THIS IS CATTLE COUNTRY - PLEASE DONT WALK HERE WITHOUT BEING AWARE THAT COWS AND CALVES MAY BE IN EVERY FIELD.

The Piddington Circular Walk is one of a series of guided trails to be established by Cherwell District Council. The route is an attractive country walk taking in Muswell Hill, the highest viewpoint in the southern half of the district. There is a great map to follow here (visit link)

The walk starts and finishes at Widnell Park. The route is described in an anti-clockwise direction, but
you can walk it either way around. Trousers, strong boots or wellies are recommended, as parts of the route can be wet and muddy, even during July. There are several stiles along the way, so this walk is difficult for people with mobility impairments. Only one stile didn’t allow Bailey to pass easily and even here I fould an alternative way. Between 7 and Simply Paul’s cache there is a locked gate with lots of signs on it that makes it look as if it is the footpath access – it isn’t. Walk further along the roadway before taking a left across the awkward stile.

Much of the route is across grazing land. Please keep to the public rights of way and keep dogs on leads through stocked fields. Make sure that gates are properly closed behind you. You will see plenty of cows and sheep and horses and some very friendly sows along the way. I also saw Black Hairstreak butterflies and many others too.

All the boxes, except two are small and can take coins and small TBs. If you find the coordinates are out, then record some of your own and pop them in your log please.

There is no bonus on this walk but there are two other caches that follow the same direction as the walk itself. They are GCR781 - Slippage ...A Matter of Time which is one of my own and GCJG88 - THE OTHER MUSWELL HILL by Simply Paul.
