Geocache Description:

Park and grab cache for those on the go or to start / end your day of caching in this area.

NOTE: You will not have to move or disturb any vegetation or anything to find this cache. Please do not tear up the nice gardens nearby as it will not help you at all.

This area used to be a crossroads of sorts. First for the indians, then Long Pond Iron Works (adjacent), next the railroad (which the old line used to run virtually across this cache site and upon which East Shore road was built).

This area now serves as a lot for hikers, hunters, cachers, fishermen, and a bus stop (which should be where the cache is but go figure). Recently a local landscaper took the 'adopt a spot' concept to a whole new level just across the street (which was my original area for a cache but did not have the heart to risk cachers tearing up the place). I have seen the spot improve then go down, then back up again. Not far into the woods you will find old cars and engines, typical for the area. Oh well - enjoy.
