Mt. Pleasant

The sister hamlet of Mount Tremper, Mount Pleasant was originally called Longyear, named for one of its first settlers. Farming, lumbering and a large blue stone quarry were the main industries. With the arrival of the railroad in 1870, it took a major change with boarding houses and seasonal vacation homes built for the flocking tourists.

Today Mt Please has the world famous Emerson Resort and Spa and is the home of the World's Largest Kaleidoscope - see (visit link) for more information on that.

The cache is a 30 cal ammo can, fairly well hidden due to closeness of muggle activity. Please re-hide well but not impossibly well!

Special Bonus - Aug 23rd only - At Shandaken Day at the Mt Tremper Day Use Area on Route 28 - two unpublished caches will be available at the Catskill Outback Booth. Look for us there.

Congrats to ARKVILLE for being the first to complete the challenge!
