Geocache Description:

S.E.U.R.

What is S.E.U.R.???  I hear you cry.

The S.E.U.R.  is quite simply the Society for the Exploration of Unknown Regions.

This is an ancient and learned body.  Not anyone can become a fellow of this Society (F.S.E.U.R) they typically have no room or time for common folk such as ourselves.  However after much debate and contemplation they found it in thier hearts to let in a common grocer,  this grocer in his amazing quixotic journey actually placed the very FIRST geocache ever!!.

I have likely found the earliest mentioned geocache in literary history.  This one dates back to 1905.  ; This intrepid Geoexplorer reached a particular point deep in his journey where he had to turn back.  Proceeding would be dangerous

I quote:

For there is a point at which even the most daring of men must stop, when Nature cries --- halt! And Mr ***** felt that he had reached that point now.

Before leaving the brink of the gulf, ***** tore a sheet of paper from his notebook and wrote upon it his name and address, the date of the month and year, and a few particulars of his voyage so far. This done, he rolled the piece of paper up and placed it in a champagne bottle, together with some United States currency, mostly five and ten cent. greenbacks, some of them being counterfeit. He corked the bottle up firmly, and placed it in a small crevasse, with the neck --- to which he tied a piece of white paper ---projecting, so that if anybody should contemplate journeying over the same route they would have no difficulty in discovering the bottle, even after this lapse of time. That is, of course, assuming that no change has taken place in the geological formation of the place.

There you have it, the FIRST geocache mentioned in a literary work from 1905(He even included swag)!!   The geology of the  area he left his cache in is not unlike Flin Flon's,   mostly igneous extrusions. However most of Flin Flon's exposed rocks were formed by Lava erupting into water.  His rocks were crystallized where he hid the cache, deep underground.

Since his geocache is fictional and certainly a terrain 5+, I did not duplicate his hide.  Ross lake is not Lake Averness.

This cache will make you a F.S.E.U.R.W.( Fellow of the Society for the Exploration of Unknown Regions Wannabe)

As any good geocacher, you will certainly want read this book that quite possibly contains the earliest mention of Geocaching. I will provide some incentive for you to read it with a nice little geocache hidden in your city with an FTF and an 2TF prize.

The book of which you now seek should be in your local library however there is a very easy to find free online version.  If you email me the title I will send you a link, however Google is your friend.

In order to find the cache you will have to convert your GPS to hddd.dddddº

The particular chapter number in which the protaganist signed and dated his logsheet. That number is equal to W

In chapter(W) he Christened the spot with a Particular name.
(***'s ***************)  You need to find this name.

The number of letters in the first word of this name(ignoring the 's) is equal to X

The number of words in the title is equal to Y

Take the number of Pigeons that he took with him and subtract the number of Fowls that he also brought with him. Make that equal to Z.

This geocache is hidden @  N 54.76WZW W 101.87YXX
