Una vez más bienvenidos a otro cache, este cache es realmente especial para mí simplemente porque fue aquí donde llegué a ser un profesional. Sí, en la Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Mayagüez. Muchas memorias buenas que nunca desaparecerán. Pues quería que ustedes visitaran el recinto para hacer geocaching y conocer del mismo también. Fue aquí mientras estudiaba Ingeniería civil que escuche realmente la palabra geocaching e hice algo de investigación para darme cuenta de que realmente es un gran deporte. Así que motive a varios estudiantes a entrar en este deporte, es tanto para el disfrute de ellos como de ustedes que nunca han estado en el recinto, bienvenidos.
El cache esta situado dentro del recinto por lo que puede ser difícil conseguir estacionamiento durante horas de clase. Pero puedes obtener acceso al cache durante las tardes y fines de semana también, estén seguros que no van a llegar de1am a 6am porque los portones estarán cerrados. Es un contenedor plástico dentro de una bolsa “zip-lock” con muchas sorpresas.
Uppps casi se me olvida como de costumbre mencionar algo de historia: La universidad fue fundada en 1911 como una universidad con el nombre del Colegio de la Agricultura. El fundador de la institución es acreditado a D.W. May, José de Diego y Carmelo Alemar. En 1912 el nombre de la institución fue cambiado a Colegio de Agricultura y Artes Mecanicas (CAAM).

Once again welcome to another cache, this cache is really special for me just because it was here that I became a professional. Yes at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez campus. A lot of good memories that will never vanish. Well I would like you to visit the campus for some geocaching and some sight seeing as well. It was here when I was studying Civil Engineering that I actually heard the word geocaching and made some research to actually realize that it’s a great sport. So I actually got some students into this sport so this is one for them as well and who has never been to the campus welcome.
The cache is located inside the campus so parking maybe difficult during school hours. But it can be accessed during evenings and weekends as well, be sure it’s not from 1am to 6am because gates are closed. It’s a plastic container within a plastic zip-lock with lots of surprises.
Uppps almost forgot as usual some history: The University was founded in 1911 as a land-grant university with the name of College of Agriculture. The founding of the institution is credited to D.W. May, José de Diego and Carmelo Alemar. In 1912 the name of the institution was changed to the College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts — Colegio de Agricultura y Artes Mecanicas (CAAM).
Direcciones: Desde Hormigueros por la PR-2 hacia Mayagüez luego de pasar el puente elevado “Via Ducto” la primera derecha y lo encontraras de frente. Si vienes de Añasco hacia Mayagüez, luego de pasar University Plaza giras a la izquierda y en el primer semáforo tomas una izquierda nuevamente y ya llegastes. ¡Buena Suerte!
Directions: From Hormigueros toward Mayagüez on the PR-2, after passing the high bridge "Via Ducto" take the first right and you have found it just in front of you. If you come from Añasco toward Mayagüez, after passing University Plaza take a left and on the second set of lights take a left again and you ate there. Good Luck!
