This cache is at the summit of Mt. Hall, one of my favorite hiking and camping destinations. The views are amazing. Once you are at the top, look for a benchmark nearby. There is also a non-geocaching log to sign at the old Ranger fire lookout position.
***I will be replacing the cache with a new one on 7/8/2017, as the last one was destroyed.***
This has been one of my favorite hiking and camping destinations for 13 years. In the summer, you can drive up most of the way. There is a small parking lot where the trail begins that can hold 6 or 8 vehicles. From here, it is about an hour and a half to the summit and an hour and a half back down, plus the time you spend at the summit. If you are hiking in the spring or fall, you can expect to hike a trail with significant elevation gain that begins at the base of Sullivan Lake. It will take you all day, if not two days.
From this location, you can see Sullivan Lake down below. You can also see Mill Pond and the historical dam to the North. There is a spectacular view in every direction, from Canada to Idaho. We hope you enjoy it.
