This cache is on the trail to Granite fire lookout approximately 3.75 miles in. Plan on 2000 foot climb to get to the lookout.
Cache is in a water tight, air tight, clear plastic container. The main point of the cache is the view. This is a beautiful hike with great views of Goose Lake, Twin Lakes, and rugged mountains. The fire lookout offers 360 degree scenery and the tenants are friendly and offer tours. Pack snacks, water, and keep an eye on the trail markers which are flat stones stacked on top of each other. The theme of the cache is lures (of which I put in a handful).
We camp at Twin Lakes with children and take day hikes to the lookout. Recommend ages 7 and older and kids who are goal oriented. The snow stays for much of the summer and is fun for all to enjoy!
