I really wanted to set a cache to show off one of my favorite places in Madison. If you get there at the right time, the sunset can be spectacular. Your reward is the view.

Parking can be found at N43° 05.056’ W89° 25.719’. There may be parking fees. The trail is used by a lot of runners and walkers. Dogs are allowed on leashes. Bikes are allowed at slow speeds. There are bike racks at the trailhead.
As of September 2026, construction of the new Frautschi Center (new window) has begun. Parking will be limited, but the preserve will remain open.
