Geocache Description:

Even at a height of 422m above mean sea level, Stoneside Hill is still an unobtrusive bump on the landscape adjoining Corney Fell.

It does, however, provide a stunning 360 degree view from left to right starting in the SW, Black Coombe, Oil Rigs, Bootle, Bootle Station, Eskmeals Gun Range (which during the week you might see/hear them firing the guns out to sea), Isle of Man, Ravenglass Estuary, the Scottish hills of Dumfries & Galloway, Sellafield, St. Bees Head, Muncaster Castle, a "Farmer's Folly" (Stainton Tower) just at the beginning of Birker Fell and extensive views of the Lake District and then White Combe.  The cache is about a 15 minute walk from the parking area on the Fell road and the 'going' can be a bit boggy in wet weather.
