This is a cache placed by a 5 year old (with some help from her dad) near one of the neat old buildings that are found in Great Falls. She's over 21 years old now, so the cache has changed a bit over the years.
The Sacred Heart Convent was built in 1922 to provide a home for the nuns who, among other things, ministered to the patients at the old Columbus Hospital. In it's time it was a cutting edge facility with several nice sandstone carvings (as was normal in the day) integrated into its construction so as to enhance it's structural integrity (which was not so normal). While several other buildings of the era developed cracks and other problems after the 1959 earthquake (the same one that made Quake Lake in Yellowstone National park) this building remained intact. As those called to religious vocations declined locally and nationwide, it was eventually sold to a company that takes care of people for profit, and that has taken great care to preserve and restore the building. This cache was placed because my 5 year old daughter loves Geocaching, and wanted to make a cache for other kids to find. She is delighted when she finds a neat trinket in a cache, and she rummaged through her toybox to come up with several items she would think were cool to discover in a cache (Disclaimer: This is a 5 year old girl's worldview. If your kid is, say, a 12 year old boy...maybe not so cool). It took her a while to decide on where to put the cache, and a while longer for me to come up with a way to hide it at least close to there. She is really looking forward to seeing the log entries, so feel free to fill up the book. This cache isn't actually on the former convent's property, but rather on private property in the city right of way across the alley (with the property owner's permission). Possible Spoiler: It is available during our normal winter conditions, but not when there is a lot of snow.
