Geocache Description:

Start of the Japanese Gulch trail system. Bring a mountain bike with big tires. Lots of mud, turns and elevation changes. Walking the trails is also good. Cache is in a fairly level area near the start.

The area is known as Japanese Gulch and has a long history. Apparently some Japanese moved here to help with the railroad and lived in this gulch. The language barrier was too much for all parties so the Japanese left when the work was done. The area may soon be developed. There are some great paths up the hill for hiking although there are signs against trespassing that I find to be generally ignored. You are on your own here, but as a bike trail this area can not be beat.
The re-incarnated cache contains more stuff from around here, rather than from Minnesota, where we moved from 2.5 years ago.
