My Uncle Corky – Written By: Mrs. Infinity
This cache is placed in honor of my Uncle Corky who passed away
a few years ago and was laid to rest here at “Our Lady of Peace”
cemetery.
My Uncle was all about his family and friends and about having a
good time. From the time that I can remember, we always had our
family ‘Race Day’ Parties at his house. Family and Friends would
come from all over to spend a wonderful day of eating, talking and
listening to the race. We also got to enjoy his awesome homemade
Bar-B-Que sauce and listen to all his wonderful stories. And the
evening would always end with the singing of my favorite song…our
family song…”The Music Contra”.
On pretty much any day of the year…his porch was always open for
a cold beer and a few jokes. My brother and I spent many a Thursday
night there with him and my Aunt Carol.
He was my Mom’s oldest brother…He was a Husband…He was an
Uncle…He was a Father of five…He was a good friend…He was a
jokester…He was the guy you could always go to for advice (and he
would give it even when you didn’t ask)…and He was an all around
good, honest and decent man.
This Cache (A slightly larger than normal small)is placed in a
big open area of the cemetery…but nearby you might hear the sounds
of children laughing. This would have made Uncle Corky very
happy…as kids (his own, his grandkids and kids in general) were
very important to him.
We love and miss you Uncle Corky!
