As for me, I prefer thorns. There is the initial announce but
the itching does not last for weeks after the fact.

battle. Also, please include any cures you use to help reduce their
impact.
I keep a container of “handy wipes” in the car for encounters
with PI; not sure how well it helps with chiggers.
