Swe: Efter att cachen blivit mugglad är gömman nu flyttad några meter.
Eng: Since the cache has been muggled once, the hide has been moved a couple of metres.

The essence of summer - Myrica gale

SWE:
Lillasjön är en liten sjö i Ronneby kommun nära Bräkne Hoby. I denna sjö, på just denna plats känt under namnet Svarta hallen brukade min mormor bada i början av 1900-talet. Och denna plats är för mig den verkliga kärnan av svensk sommar. Bada med fördel på morgon eller kväll då stämningen är magisk. Klipphällen är dyksäker (+ 2,5 meters djup). Uppstigning sker lämpligast där hällen blir flack i söder.

I sjökanten växer dessutom Pors (Myrica gale) som med sina doftande blad sägs ha medicinalkrafter, men som framför allt används som smaksättare till brännvin. När mörkret är som mörkast vid juletid tar vi fram en flaska av friskaste blekingesommar och skålar för ljusare tider.

Lillasjön is a small lake in the community of Ronneby, close to the village of Bräkne Hoby. In this lake, just at this spot, my grandmother used to swim in the early 1900’s. And for me this place is the very essence of Swedish summer. Best is to swim in early morning or late evening. It’s safe to dive from the rock (+2,5 metres deep). Climbing up is best on the south side of the rock.

On the shore you also can find Myrcia gale (swe: Pors) which has leaves with a wonderful scent. You can use this to flavour your aquavit. Every Christmas, when the night is dark and long, we drink to the light to come using this Essence of summer.

The cache contained from the start a log book, a pencil, 10 recepies for Pors-flavoured aquavit (in Swedish) and a taste-kit for the FTF!

Pick the light green leaves in the spring. Wash them and put them in a bowl and pour non flavoured aquavit over it. Cover with a lid and let it be for five days. Strain it and pour it in a bottle. Let it mature for three-four months. This essence is quite strong, delute it with lots of aquavit!
