Geocache Description:

Some antennas (aerials) and masts are hidden and some aren't. This huge mast certainly isn't!

This 35mm film-pot cache is located alongside the busy back-road near to the New Barn Farm Mast Site near Hooe.

With there being limited off-road parking at the above co-ordinates, and with a short off-road walk to the cache, this should be a good cache-and-dash for the locals and those just passing through.

The start co-ordinates are for a very-small sign on which there is an eleven-digit 'fax' number.
Assume ABCDE FGHIJK (don't worry that some of the numbers are difficult to read).

1) You first need to solve these two formulae:
Wavelength 1: ((B)(E-B)(A)(C)(B))/10
Wavelength 2: ((E-B)(B+C)(C-D)(E-B))/100

2) Now you need to calculate the corresponding frequencies for these two wavelengths. If you don’t have enough fingers to do this then you could use the calculator on your mobile phone. (Cheat: if doing this using pen and paper, you can multiply by 3 and then adjust the decimal point so that your two answers look like those in the two examples.)

The formula is:
lambda x c = f

Where:
lambda = wavelength (in metres);
c = 300,000,000 (speed of light in metres per second); and
f = frequency (in cycles per second [or Hertz]).

Your answers should be similar to these two examples:
0.17000 x 300,000,000 = 51,000,000
0.07500 x 300,000,000 = 22,500,00

3) Finally, divide the two frequencies by 1,000,000 to give the answer in Mega Hertz (MHz), e.g. 51,000,000 becomes 51.000 MHz.

The cache can be found at:
N 50 (frequency 1)
E000 (frequency 2)

Please note that you do not need to climb any gates or fences in order to reach the cache. Beware of this busy road.

If anybody would like to expand this Watt Mast? series, please do. I ask that you let me (LostInTheWoods!) know first so that I can keep track of the Watt Mast numbers, and names, so as to avoid duplication.

This also applies to the Hidden and Dangerous? series of disguised mobile phone antennas.
