Some Cheese Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cajrrman: It's time to let this 13 year old cache go. The hiding spot isn't as nice as it used to be and the cache wasn't in very good shape.

Geocache Description:

Some Cheese has been hidden somewhere.

The folks at geocaching HQ have required me to add the following statement to this cache. However, I checked with both Douglas County and Colorado Parks and Wildlife and both told me that this open space is an exception to this rule. Nevertheless, I am leaving the below statement in place until I see the exception reflected on either the county or state website.

Valid hunting or fishing license required!

This geocache is located on a State Wildlife Area or CPW-leased State Trust Land. A valid hunting or fishing license is required to access and recreate on this property. All other rules and regulations by Colorado Parks & Wildlife apply. Learn more at https://cpw.state.co.us.

NOTE: The park that this cache is in is CLOSED during parts of September, October and November. Check with the Douglas County webpage for the Sharptail Ridge Trail for information about closures. Do not attempt this cache during these closures.

There is no particular significance to the name of this cache. I just thought it would be amusing to see emails coming in that say so-and-so found some cheese! If you want, include the name of your favorite kind of cheese or an unusual type of cheese that you have tried and what you thought about it. The container is a camouflaged plastic peanut butter jar. It had quite a lot of peanut butter in it at one time. It originally had an assortment of the usual stuff in it including a nice TB for the first-to-finder and a couple of oakbucks. It also had 5 interesting blue and white whistles - the original owner is welcome to collect them. The sign by the trailhead says no bikes and no dogs. There is the potential for rattlesnakes but I didn't see any.
