Geocache Description:

...and I cannot lie.

The Chelan Butte is a prominent landmark in this part of the valley. From the cache location on the north side of the lake, you can watch the seasons change on the side of the hill. You can see the snow line march its way down in the fall until the whole butte is covered in white. Then in spring the snow line moves back up the hillside, to be replaced by the green of spring and early summer, then the brown of the height of summer, before the green slowly returns, and the snow line appears once more.

You can see the butte quite well (a 'butte'-iful view) from here and you can catch some breathtaking views of the lake itself from this "High Point." The road is quiet, and you can park very near the cache location. There is some off-road work you'll have to do, as the cache is approximately 60 feet from the road. But the views you will have while you rest yourself should be worth the effort. Please feel free to take a picture from the cache location and post it here. You are looking for a tennis ball canister, and the original contents include splash balls for use in the pool or lake. FTF gets a Lake Chelan Commemorative Pin.

I'm not sure how accessible the cache will be during the winter, so when the snows come, I'll check it and make sure it can still be reached.
