A short hike on dirt paths to the cache site on top of a small hill in the midst of Edgehill. The cache is a micro container which necessitates you bringing your own pencil/pen. FTF prize is an unactivated 2008 Sichuan Earthquake pathtag.
The cache is located on a height of land in the midst of Edgehill. The hillside is festooned, in season, with wild roses, crocuses, buffalo berries, clover and sage. Its deep grass and clover is inhabited by numerous rabbits and gophers as well as deer and coyotes. In the winter, the hill provides a fast, exciting toboggan ride - into a fence, if you're not careful!! The view from the top of the hill is panoramic - from the downtown Calgary cityscape past Canada Olympic Park to the mountains in the west. Sunrise and sunset times are particularly awe-inspiring. Do I sound a bit enamoured of it? I should, it's my neighbourhood. I hope you'll enjoy the hunt as well as a quiet sit afterwards.
