Geocache Description:

New location for the Gillespie Oasis!!

The Gillespie Oasis had to be re-hid due to vandalism of the palm tree it was hidden under. Cache is named after Leon and Sheila Gillespie who traveled here from Hill City,SD. Both are avid Geocachers and very adventerous people! You must first start by finding the famous Curacao Ostrich farm which is located near the shores of Saint Joris bay. The road that leads to the Ostrich Farm is paved. Coninue past the Ostrich Farm onto a dirt road to the waters edge and park. This is where the journey begins. N/12 degrees by 07.607 by W/068 degrees by 49.574. Start walking South-East (right side of the bay). Stay close to the waters edge following first a part of the dirt road that ends into a little single track trail at the base of a wooden building with no walls just a roof. Then follow that a short ways until you find a little dirt road that heads North to the point,(called Punta Mangusa). The new cache is located at Punta Mangusa, this is such a beautiful area and be sure to bring a trash bag and carry out a little trash, it all helps! Please make sure to re-hide the cache well due to this being an area with locals coming here to fish.
