Geocache Description:

Welcome to Stemler Cave Woods Nature preserve. This cache is the farthest from parking. You can get a trail map near the parking area from an information board. The board contains some info on the history of the area and the Homer F. Stemler walking trail. Trail length is 1.4 miles on the short loop and 2 miles on the longer loop. Daytime only.

This is a regular sized plastic container I came across. It's well camoflauged and hidden 30 ft off a side trail. The land manager asked me not to place caches far off the trail. Forest land in Illinois is a small percentage of what it was 200 years ago. This forest preserve is graded "A", which is the highest grade given for natural areas. Interpretive signs in the area give some great info on various features in the area.

Solid Pink refers to the name of the container I used!! FTF prize inside.
