Schweitzer Grove Traditional Cache
Mt Goat: This area burned in a fire a while back and just isn’t a good hiding place anymore. Time for it to be retired.

In the Schweitzer Grove Nature Area. Easy hike on relatively flat dirt trails. Tall trees may make getting accurate coordinates difficult.
The Schweitzer Grove Nature Area contains an old grove of eucalyptus trees. The trees are home to woodpeckers and many other birds. Some of the trees in this area were diseased and had to be removed. Many still remain.
Part of the Carmicheael Recreation & Park District, this nature area contains more than 17 acres. Amenities include: disc golf course (old and in need of repair), walking trails, and one portable restroom off Milroy Lane.
Many Fair Oaks and Carmichael residents don't even know that this park is here as there is not much in the way of signage and no parking areas. Access to the park is easy though from five walk-in entrances: Milroy Lane, Castleglen Way, Donneybrook Way, Hussey Drive and Sumter Drive.
Many homes are adjacent to this area. Please be respective of residents. Good luck and have fun!
