Located at the entrance to Lakeside Park is a memorial to those who served from 1898 to 1902 in the war with Spain.
Beneath the statue is a tablet, cast in metal recovered from the USS Maine, destroyed in Havannah Harbor, on February 15, 1898.
Parking is available northwest of the cache, in a public lot. Please be careful crossing the street!
