Short walk, easy terrain. Be sure and pull off of 4-lane Rt. 50 onto the access road. There you will find plenty of room to park. If the Dept. of Highways is mowing in the vicinity you should try another time. If you are traveling East, it will be on your right. If traveling West, on your left, Sun Valley side.
U.S. Rt. 50 extends from Ocean City, Md. to Sacramento, CA. This particular section of Rt. 50, from Clarksburg WV to Parkersburg WV was upgraded to 4-lanes in the 1970's. Prior to that there were billboards along the 2-lane route advertising Rt. 50 as the "Short Way West". It actually took about 2 hours to travel to Parkersburg on the 2-lane, as opposed to 1 hour now. This cache is located along an access road, which was split when the 4-lane was built. The access road connects the communities of Reynoldsville and Sun Valley. Older versions of Rt. 50 run through both communities. This cache location overlooks a field where I kept ponies, when I was growing up. There was also a house and a cemetary on this ridge. It is a quick and easy cache, very convenient for those traveling Rt. 50.
