Lavoye Toy Store Traditional Cache
wyocache!: Thank you to all who visited the Lavoye Toy Store cache on Highway 259. WYDOT's new "nothing along the highway" ruling applies to this cache I guess. I spoke to the local foreman who advised mine needed moved... so I did. Will definitely replace the cache again in the Midwest area... keep your eyes out for a few more to come! Wyocache!

Just off a pullout on Highway 259, near the Naval Petroleum Reserve and old (New) Lavoye townsite. Small hills, tall grass and large sage present.
Kid friendly... The Lavoye Toy Store has opened!
In memory of one of many 85+ year old oil camps of the booming era of the area, the Lavoye Toy Store cache has something for everyone (hopefully)! It is stocked full of toys, SWAG, pins, Travel Bug and coin... hopefully all finders find something to fun or humor them.
Present from the cache location, in the draw to the northeast, is a cellar looking structure... that's the remains of Lavoye's heated indoor mineral water pool circa 1924. It is the only remaining remnant of Lavoye. Established in 1924, Lavoye was created from the eviction of a previous camp, "Old Lavoye" from the Ohio Oil Company who acquired mineral rights of that area and sent the residents packing... this is where they came! Also enjoy the now abandoned storage tank rings to the north along the east side of the highway and grab some history at the local Salt Creek Musuem in Midwest if you are interested in more information of the area!
Also enclosed in cache is a camera... feel free to please take a few shots of your finds, trades and fun as you see fit... I intend on posting them as the camera gets filled! Good luck caching!
