From the contemplation tree continue along the path to Keld and a stile into a neatly kept garden! A short walk across the lawn to the road. Turn right and the chapel is ahead, now owned by the National Trust and the key maybe available from the house opposite.
Three route options here. Best route: go past the chapel and the old houses to the ford. Cross the river and pick up the good track alongside the river. Or, if the river is too high for a dry crossing, continue along the road to the bridge. An alternative is to bear left before the chapel and follow the road to Thornship, go through the farm down to the stepping stones across the river. The bridge is best when the river is up as the stones get covered.
After finding the cache follow the good track as it curves round then heads for Steps Hall. Then continue by the river to the last cache.
